Temporary Closure of Science Oxford for Refurbishment

Wednesday 3 December 2008
At 4pm on 5 January 2009, Science Oxford will close its doors to the public for two months. This will allow us to undergo a full re-vamp and re-open in spring 2009. Science Oxford will build on our first three years of operation to improve visitors’ experience and operational effectiveness whilst increasing visitor numbers.

Science Oxford will continue to be a testbed for ideas, exhibitions, events and business models which will indicate the scale of our ambition to open a world class science centre in the heart of Oxford city within the next five years.

The refurbishment will be undertaken by award-winning museum and exhibition designer Haley Sharpe. The new building will focus on linking the exhibits to people's everyday experience and to make connections between the different elements of the centre.
