Are you a Year 12 (or equivalent) student in Oxfordshire, who has an aptitude for science, technology, engineering or maths and would benefit from a real research experience?
Nuffield Research Placements
Nuffield Research Placements (previously Nuffield Science Bursaries) provide students with the opportunity to work alongside professional scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians. Placements take place during the summer vacation and last a minimum of 4 - 6weeks.
Please call 01865 810014 or e-mail email@example.com
I liked working as a team to discover new ideas and theories and learning new techniques along the way. The bursary certainly made me consider my future career path and confirmed that I really wanted to pursue science later in life.
Students in the first year of a post-16 science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) course are eligible to apply and placements are available in universities, commercial companies and research institutions.
Nuffield Research Placements are administered in Oxfordshire by Science Oxford. Students and teachers from Buckinghamshire and Berkshire schools should contact SETPOINT Hertfordshire firstname.lastname@example.org
Applications are particularly encouraged from students who do not have a family history of going to university or who attend schools in less advantaged areas. All students will receive reimbursement of reasonable travel costs, plus some students may also be eligible for a weekly bursary in addition to travel expenses.
Please find below guidance notes for teachers and potential students plus the student application form.
