'Oxfordshire Wildlife Exposed' Competition Winners to be Announced

Tuesday 4 November 2008
Science Oxford will be announcing the winners of ‘Oxfordshire Wildlife Exposed’ photo competition on 12 November as part of the launch of the new series of events and Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition. The competition invited local people to send their digital photos of their local wildlife. The overall winner will pocket a cash prize of £150 and the two runner ups - one for under 16s and another for people aged 16 and over - will receive £75 each.

Just under 200 photos were entered, with a variety of subject matter. Emma Wightman, Events and Exhibition Officer at Science Oxford, said: "When we announced the competition we were unsure what range of wildlife we would receive. We have been delighted with the response, both in terms of quantity and quality".

The best photos from the competition will be exhibited at Science Oxford between 12 November 2008 and 3 January 2009 to accompany the Shell Wildlife Photographer of the Year.
