Our manifesto for science and enterprise
- We will carry out and publish research, engage in advocacy, stimulate debate and inform future policy around topics of enterprise, education and public engagement
- We will use Science Oxford Live as a laboratory to road-test exciting ways to help people engage with science and enterprise
- We will design and build a cultural centre for science in the heart of Oxford and open that centre before 2013
- We will create links between schools and businesses, showcasing Oxfordshire’s high technology sector to its citizens
- We will develop, provide and distribute stimulating learning experiences for pupils and support innovation in science teaching with the aim of widening interest and participation
- We will demonstrate the value of, and widen participation in, science and enterprise by training and mentoring role models, providing them with opportunities to communicate with young people
- We will research, evaluate and communicate new approaches to science and enterprise education, showing how they fit with school agendas and successfully engage young people
- We will play a leading role in sustaining and supporting our region’s high-tech economy
- We will support the region’s innovation ecosystem by pioneering initiatives and supporting existing networks
- We will build links between companies, schools and the public
- We will research, evaluate and communicate innovative approaches and ideas
- We will present science and enterprise in ways which inspire, educate and entertain
- We will become the region’s leading centre for public engagement and dialogue
- We will create, evaluate, communicate and implement innovative public engagement practice
