About Us
Science Oxford is a unique public venue enabling everyone to discover, explore and debate science. With three central activities in the modern building there is something for everyone from 5 to 80 years.
Our public Exhibition Space showcases a new science exhibition every couple of months. Topics range from space science to neuroscience, genetics to technology and physics to engineering, and with interactives to play with and SciArt pieces to contemplate our free exhibitions are not to be missed.
Our diverse Public Events Programme offers both adults and children interesting, informative and entertaining events, presenting science in varied and often innovative and experimental ways. Whether our audience is debating key issues in science, being dazzled by cutting edge technological advances, chewing the fat with experts or enjoying a performance of science comedy or theatre there is plenty on offer.
Hands On Science Gallery completes the trio of activities on offer here at Science Oxford. It is packed with loads of exciting interactive experiments fit for the whole family as well as school groups. Try to distort your face on television, float a train or operate a digger arm or challenge yourself to one of Hands On's ever-changing themed activities such as 'Whodunnit', the science detective challenge.
Science Oxford is the first phase of a long term project
This will culminate in the development of a high-profile venue in the centre of Oxford, as part of the redevelopment of the city's West End. This means that much of the work which we do is experimental in its nature, exploring the effectiveness of different ways of engaging different audiences with different aspects of science, technology and engineering.
